We spend a large part of our lives working. That is why we believe work should be and remain enjoyable. Working experience

Our team at Sierafor is always busy improving the organisation to make working even more enjoyable. We have a lot of ideas already on how to do this, but in order to carry them out we need knowledge and expertise. Our working hours

The working hours for full-time production personnel are from 7:00 - 16.15. For part-time production personnel, there are various options:

-   from 09.00 to 15.00
-   from 07.00 to 15.00

Employment conditions: The employment conditions at Sierafor are in accordance with the CAO (collective employment agreement) for the flower wholesaling industry. We have a number of extra schemes too, including a pension scheme, a bicycle project and a home PC project, which enables you to buy a bicycle or computer at Sierafor at a special price.

There is plenty of parking space at Sierafor, and you can also join our active employees’ association.

Introducing your future colleagues

Kitty Oostergo-van Noort (1963) telephonist/receptionist, has been working for Sierafor since May 1999.

Kitty: “Sierafor is an international business, and that enables me to use my knowledge of languages to the full. I think it’s an advantage that Sierafor is not too large a company. I quickly recognise people when they telephone or come to the reception. I really enjoy having contact with everyone, both my colleagues in the office and in the production department. I also like the fact that as the telephonist/ receptionist, I am involved in everything.”

Martijn van Varick (1972), dispatch worker, has been working for Sierafor since June 1996.

Martijn: ”I started out in the Racks department at Sierafor. When a vacancy came up six months later, the management asked me whether I would like to work in the dispatch department. I still enjoy this job. The nice thing about the work is that you have contact with all sorts of people. Another thing I particularly like is that I can work independently and have a lot of responsibility.”

Eef Wouters (1933), canteen assistant, has been working for Sierafor since November 1991.

Eef: “I have been working for Sierafor for 10 years. To begin with I was tying up and packing bouquets and making sure that the tables on the flower lines were always full of flowers. At that time I never had my own regular workplace, and actually I enjoyed that, being able to work in all sorts of different places. Then I was asked to work in the canteen. I began there when Sierafor had only 60 employees. Now, some 250 people come to the canteen every day, not to mention all the extra temporary personnel. The thing I enjoy most about my work is the friendliness and sociable atmosphere in the canteen.”

Jeroen de Roode (1967), chilled stores team leader, has been working for Sierafor since September 1995.

Jeroen: “I started work for Sierafor in the Racks department, but quickly moved on to work in the chilled stores. I have built up this department right from the start. My work involves inspecting and checking bouquets and flowers. I know from experience which customer has which requirements, and I can quickly assess whether the bouquets meet these requirements. I can see straight away whether a consignment is any good or not. People from many different backgrounds and cultures work for Sierafor. I enjoy the contact I have with them while working or during my breaks.”
